Based on the hit movie School of Rock starring Jack Black, School of Rock Audition is a musical puzzle game in which you take the role of a student trying out for the band. How to Play

To begin the game, select Play from the Main Menu. You will then be given the option of choosing one of two characters: either Lawrence or Tomika. After you choose your player, you'll see a quote from Dewey Finn, signaling the start of your round.

During each round, you'll see and hear a sequence of notes flashed onto the screen. Use the arrow keys (or 2, 4, 6, 8) to repeat the note sequence. Each time you match the sequence, another note will be added. The longer you can jam, the better your chances of joining the band.

When you start the game, you must first master the keyboard, then the bass guitar, then the drum, and finally the electric guitar. The only instruments available to you on the Select Instrument Menu are the keyboard and any others you have mastered.

Note Sequence Targets: There are four instruments in School of Rock Audition, each representing a different level of difficulty. To advance from one instrument to the next, you must successfully match a sequence with the following number of notes:

• Keyboard-8 notes
• Bass Guitar-12 notes
• Drum-16 notes
• Electric Guitar-20 notes

The length of the sequence for each instrument continues to increase until you make a mistake, even if you have already achieved the target note level for that instrument. (The current length of the sequence appears at the top of the screen.) The longest note sequence for each instrument and character is recorded on the Top Auditions page.

Ending the Game: If you fail to complete the required sequence, a picture of Dewey Finn appears informing you that you need more practice. If you succeed, Dewey congratulates you and you receive the opportunity to try the next instrument. When you have successfully mastered all four instruments, you will see the Victory Screen informing you that you have unlocked a ringtone and wallpaper. In addition, the Top Auditions screen appears summarizing the best performances so far for each of the four instruments.

Free Ringtones and Wallpapers: When you first play School of Rock Audition, the Ringer menu shows the free ringtone that comes with the game ("Rockin' Drums"). When you master all four instruments as Lawrence, a new ringtone ("Rockin' Rhodes") is added to the menu. When you master all four instruments as Tomika, a new ringtone ("Rockin' Guitar") is added to the menu. Selecting any of the available ringtones installs it into your phone's menu.

Similarly, when you first play School of Rock Audition, the Wallpaper menu shows the free wallpaper that comes with the game ("School of Rock"). When you master all four instruments as Lawrence, a new wallpaper ("Dewey Finn 1") is added to the menu. When you master all four instruments as Tomika, a new wallpaper ("Dewey Finn 2") is added to the menu. Selecting any of the available wallpapers installs it into your phone's menu.
