PIPES is a wireless puzzle game that challenges you to construct pipelines by manipulating random sections of pipe. As the pipe sections are delivered, you must rotate and move them to supply water to the firefighter. Timing is essential in this game. If you allow the pipes to stack to the top, the game is over.

To complete all 15 levels of PIPES, you must think creatively and act quickly. Pipes are delivered randomly and drop more quickly with each successive level. As you construct more elaborate pipelines, you’ll not only clear more sections from the screen, but you’ll earn more points besides. In addition, as you complete each level, you may earn bonus points for not wasting pipes.

How to Play

After downloading PIPES from the catalog, select the PIPES icon and then press the menu selection button on the phone. (Note: To immediately exit PIPES, press the “end call” button on the phone at any time during the game play. The application will immediately end and return you to the main phone screen.)

After the Title screen, the Main Menu is displayed. The Main Menu screen consists of the following options:

• New Game – Start a new game
• Load Game – Resume a saved game
• Help – Show Help information
• Sound On/Off – Turn the sound on or off
• High Scores – See rankings and scores
• Credits – See Game Development credits
• Exit – Exit the game

To select any option, press OK or Select.

To begin the game, select New Game from the Main Menu. You will be starting from Level 1.

In this game your mission is to supply water to the firefighter putting out the fire. To accomplish this objective, build a complete pipeline constructed of small sections of pipe. You’ll need to rotate or move the sections to create a complete pipeline. Sections on the far left should connect into the main water supply. Sections on the right should connect to the firefighter’s hose.

Throughout the game, the screen displays your current score, the level you are on, and the number of pipe sections that “remain” to complete the level. Whenever a pipeline is completed, all pipes that are the part of the working pipeline disappear from the work area and the “Remain” total is reduced by that number of sections. When “Remain” equals zero, you have successfully completed the level.

As you approach the end of a level, you must try to eliminate as many of the pipe sections on the screen as possible. The fewer the number of unused sections left in the work area at the end of each stage, the higher the bonus you receive as you advance to the next level.

To add to the challenge, once you have completed Level 5, multiple pipes sections will fall at once.
Your game will be saved automatically as you complete each level. You can continue from the saved level by selecting Load Game from the Main Menu.
Throughout the game, you can reach the sub-menu by pressing the CLR key. The sub-menu includes:

• Resume: Go back to the game screen
• Restart: Start the game from the beginning of the current level
• Sound: Toggle the sound setting off or on
• Back to Menu: Exit from the game and go to the Main Menu

The Help screen includes instructions for playing the game. The goal of the game is to build a series of pipelines connecting the main water supply to the firefighter’s hose. To do this:

• To select the section of pipe you want to adjust, move the cursor using the arrow keys (or 2, 4, 6, and 8 keys)
• Press 5 or OK key (except T-720 handset) to rotate the selected pipe
• Press 1 or 3 key to move a pipe to the left or right accordingly

In addition, the game offers two special sections of pipe which perform unique functions when they are included in a completed pipeline:
The bomb explodes, removing pipes in a 3x3 area. You receive credit for all removed pipes in that pipeline, including those, which exploded.
The clock temporarily suspends the introduction of new pipe sections to the work area.
