How to Play
Maneuvering:
Here are the various moves that are available for each level and the key presses that make them function:

7
Quick Down
1-6
Fire

Level 1:
As a hatchling dragon, you do not have the power to fire at the monsters. You must complete this level by maneuvering around the various obstacles (and of course gathering food). Thus, keys 1-6 remain inactive until Level 2.

Level 2:
Now that you are no longer a hatchling, you may shoot at and destroy the monsters and storm clouds that come at you. However, this level also introduces three new obstacles: lightning, a ceiling, and volcanoes.

Level 3 (Bonus Level):
There are no monsters to attack you on Level 3. It is merely an opportunity to increase your point total. If you die on this level, it does not reduce your “lives” or prevent you from advancing to Level 4.

Level 4:
The final test. In addition to dodging and destroying the various obstacles, Level 4 introduces the Red Dragon, who must be defeated before the final cave will appear.

Scoring:
You receive points every second that you remain alive. In addition, you get points every time you gather food or kill a monster. On Levels 2 through 4, when you defeat a monster it turns into food which may be grabbed for additional points. Also, shooting a storm cloud turns it into a dragonball, and each time you grab a dragonball you receive points as well. Finally, when you successfully complete each level, you receive 100 bonus points for each “life” you have left.

Advancing:
You have three dragon lives per game. The eggs on the bottom left of the screen indicate how many additional dragon lives you have left. If you accumulate 3000 points, you are granted an extra “life.” When you run out of lives, the game ends. You can lose a life by running into any of the following: a monster or its projectiles, the ground (including mountain tops), the lava of a volcano, a storm cloud, the wall of the cave, or lightning. The progress bar at the bottom of the play screen indicates how far from the cave your dragon is. You will advance to the next level if your dragon makes it safely into to the cave (indicated by the “IN” sign).

Power-ups:
On Levels 2 and 4, the first dragonball you grab will give you both points and a power-up. The power-up doubles the strength of your attacks on monsters. The power-up lasts until you lose a “life” or complete the level. Grabbing additional dragonballs while in power-up mode does not increase your power further, but it does give you additional points.

Bubbles:
On Levels 2 and 4, grabbing a bubble gives you a protective shield that allows you to survive a collision or attack without losing a life.

Monsters:
The various monsters differ in attacks and abilities. The Red Dragon has the most powerful arsenal of all.
