Wireless Apps > Around the World in 80 Days™

Based on the Jackie Chan film of the same name. As Passepartout (Jackie Chan), you must help Phileas and Monique circumnavigate the globe in 80 days. En route you must return the Jade Buddha to your village as General Fang and her Black Scorpions try to stop you.

There are 4 levels (Paris, India, China, and New York). You must jump, climb, and dodge to avoid objects that are thrown at you or block your way. You must also use your martial arts to fight off enemies without losing the Jade Buddha. Deliver the Buddha and return to London in less than 80 days to win.

How to Play

Objective: Make it through Paris and India without losing the Jade Buddha or being detained by Inspector Fix. Return the Jade Buddha to your village in China. Then defeat the Black Scorpions and General Fang in New York so that you can return to London in 80 days or less.

Key Layout:
  • 5/Select - Attack
  • 4/Left - Go left
  • 6/Right - Go right
  • 2/Up - Jump/go up
  • 8/Down - Crouch/go down
  • 0 - Block/release
  • # - Pause
  • * - Use Power of Ten Tigers
Power-ups: Each time you pick up a Tiger Coin you earn the Power of Ten Tigers. Press * to temporarily become invincible and move much more quickly. An icon appears at the top of the screen when you pick up a Tiger Coin and it changes color when the Power of Ten Tigers is in force. As the Power runs out, the icon flashes as a warning.

Power-ups cannot be saved. You can possess only one at a time. However, while using one, you may pick up another.

The Jade Buddha: You begin the game with the Jade Buddha in your possession. When he you are injured, you may drop the Buddha, at which point a symbol at the top of the screen signals that you have lost it. If you complete the level without the Jade Buddha, you lose. When you complete the third level (China), you will be able to restore the Jade Buddha to its shrine. You will not need to carry it with you any further.

Scoring: Your score depends entirely on how much time it takes you to complete each level. There are no points or bonuses given for defeating enemies or completing specific tasks.

Even if you make it all the way to the end of the game, if you have needed more than 80 days to do so, you have lost. Likewise, if you misplace the Jade Buddha along the way, you will be unable to advance to the next level. In addition, if you sustain too many injuries fighting your enemies along the way, you may be unable to continue.

A bar at the top of the screen shows you how many injuries you have sustained. Likewise, a bar across the bottom of the screen shows how far you have progressed on that level. Injuries do not carry over from one level to another.

Once you have successfully completed all four levels, selecting Continue from the Main Menu gives you access to all four levels so that you can improve your times in each location. Once your cumulative time for all four drops below 80 days, you win.

Tips

Paris:
  • You will travel much faster (and avoid some enemies) when you grab onto the balloon rope.
  • To sneak through a building, get a running (or flying) start and go through a window.

  • India:
  • You will likely need both Ten Tiger Power-ups to complete this level. Use them to leap across buildings and get away from Fix and the guy with the chain.

  • China:
  • Use the Ten Tiger Power-ups to withstand the many blows which will be thrown at you.
  • To defeat the head Scorpion, you must be near the shrine when you fight him.

  • New York:
  • It is not possible to defeat General Fang in a single fight.
  • Several power-ups are available to help you defeat her. The Tiger Coins may reappear after they have been used.
